Hurricane Update 9/10/2017: HQ Closure and Term Postponement.

Update 2: 9/10/2017

Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullah,
Due to Hurricane Irma’s latest trajectory, the storm is projected to come through Tampa. Because of the expected widespread power outages, Mishkah’s headquarters will be closed and student support will be working at reduced capacity for the next few days. Furthermore, the administration has decided to postpone the start of the fall 2017 semester (English Department) by one week. First live classes will start insha’ Allah on Saturday, September 23rd.

Update 1: 9/8/2017

Dear Mishkah students, faculty and staff,
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

As Hurricane Irma approaches Florida, the storm’s projected path and potential danger is becoming more clear.  The state governor has directed that all state universities will close effective Friday through Monday, as part of an effort to ensure every space is available for sheltering and staging. Mishkah’s headquarters will be closed through Monday as well.

It’s very important that all our students, faculty and staff residing in the path of the hurricane remain safe. If it is determined that additional closures are needed beyond Monday, updates will be posted on the Mishkah’s website, official social media channels, and shared through email. If you are in the path of the hurricane, please stay informed through updates from county and state emergency management officials and take all precautions necessary to remain safe.

May Allah protect us all from all calamities. Allahumma ameen!
