Introduction to Information Technology
About the course
This General Education course covers fundamental concepts of computer science which include introduction to computer basics, operating systems and applications, networking and the Internet, computer security, spreadsheets, word processing, social media platforms, and the role of Artificial Intelligence in our lives. Students will learn about the basic operations of their computers, improve their browsing practices, learn about online safety for themselves and their families, and use different applications from the Microsoft Office suite. (3 credit hours)
About the Instructor(s)

Dr. Saleem Masadeh teaches Information Technology at Mishkah University. He has more than 16 years of IT experience in Jordan and United States. Dr. Masadeh earned his PhD in Computer Science from New Mexico State University. He received his BS from Yarmouk University and his MS from Jordan University of Science and Technology. Dr. Masadeh started his career as faculty member at Mut’ah University, Jordan, teaching different undergraduate computer science courses. He has worked as a data scientist and software engineer developing machine learning algorithms and web applications. His current interests include data science and data analysis.
